The story behind the design
The In God We Trust Design
“In God We Trust” has been the national motto of the United States since Congress adopted it on July 30, 1956, and it has appeared on American coins since the Civil War. Our design sets it on a ribbon banner beneath the PatriotMurica eagle, in a laurel wreath under thirteen stars: a patriotic expression of faith.
The artwork. The PatriotMurica eagle badge in a laurel wreath under thirteen stars, with “In God We Trust” on a ribbon banner. Congress adopted the phrase as the national motto on July 30, 1956.
