Dating safety tips for Patriots Love, PatriotMurica’s place for single members to meet, and what we do and don’t check.

Patriots Love is where single PatriotMurica members, 18 and older, meet for friendship, dating or marriage. Most members are exactly who they say they are, but we can’t vouch for anyone: we don’t verify identities or check criminal records. Take the same care you would meeting anyone new, and use the tips below.

Keep your money to yourself

  • Never send money, gift cards, cryptocurrency or wire transfers to someone you met online, however urgent or heartfelt the story. No one worth meeting will ask.
  • Be wary of anyone who needs help with a medical bill, a plane ticket, customs fees, a lawyer or a business deal, or who offers you an investment “opportunity”. These are the classic signs of a romance scam.
  • Report any request for money straight away, from their profile or from the conversation.

Guard your personal information

  • Keep the conversation in PatriotMurica Messages until you are comfortable. Scammers try to move you to text, email or messaging apps quickly.
  • Don’t share your home address, workplace, financial details, Social Security number or passwords.
  • Think before you share photos: pictures can show where you live, work or worship.

Get to know them first

  • Take it slow and ask questions. Be careful with someone who declares love very quickly, always has a reason not to meet, or whose story keeps changing.
  • Consider a video call before you meet in person.
  • Search their name and photos online: a reverse image search can show whether their pictures belong to someone else.

Meet safely

  • Meet in a busy public place, like a restaurant, a coffee shop or a church event, and stay in public for the first few dates.
  • Tell a friend or family member where you are going, whom you are meeting and when you expect to be home.
  • Arrange your own way there and back, keep your phone charged, and keep your drink with you.
  • If something feels wrong, leave. You don’t owe anyone an explanation.

Trust your instincts, and tell us

  • Unmatch or block anyone who makes you uncomfortable. A block hides you from each other everywhere on PatriotMurica.
  • Report fake profiles, scams, harassment, explicit content, anyone under 18 and anyone who is married. Staff review every report.
  • If you are in danger, call 911.

How to report, unmatch or block

  • Report from any Patriots Love profile or photo: a fake profile or someone else’s photos, a scam or a request for money, harassment, explicit content, anyone under 18, or anyone who is married. Staff review every report and can remove photos and suspend profiles.
  • Unmatch from a profile or from your matches: you won’t see each other again, and your conversation closes (you can both still read it).
  • Block from a profile, a conversation or the members directory: you’re hidden from each other everywhere on PatriotMurica.
  • For anything urgent, write to support@patriotmurica.com.

The Patriots Love standards

  • Be yourself. Use your own first name, your true age and recent photos of you. No pretending to be someone else.
  • Be single and 18 or older. Patriots Love is for single adults: never married, divorced or widowed. Not for anyone who is married, separated or in a relationship.
  • Court with respect. Be honest and courteous in every message. No pressure, harassment or explicit talk, and take no for an answer the first time.
  • Never ask for money. No requests for money, gifts, loans, crypto or investments, and no selling, recruiting or fundraising of any kind.
  • Keep photos clean and your own. Photos must show your own face clearly: no nudity or suggestive photos, no photos of children alone and no one else’s pictures.
  • Keep the forum standards too. Argue with ideas, not people, and never share anyone’s personal information.
