Support

How Support Is Structured

Memberships, store purchases, organizational donations and political contributions are different things, with different legal rules. We keep them in separate systems and never put them through one checkout to sort out later.

Four separate channels

Where Each One Stands

  1. 01

    Commercial memberships

Access to the archive, publications, events and the member card.

    Checking…

A commercial purchase. Not a donation and not a political contribution.

    Details
  2. 02

    Store purchases

    PatriotMurica Shop goods.

    Checking…

A commercial purchase, processed separately from membership.

    Details
  3. 03

    Organizational donations

Gifts that support the archive and educational programs.

    Not accepted

PatriotMurica is operated by a for-profit company and does not accept donations. Membership fees and Shop purchases are not tax-deductible.

  4. 04

    Regulated political contributions

Money given to influence elections, to candidates or through a political committee.

    Not accepted

PatriotMurica does not solicit or accept contributions to any candidate, party or political committee.

Political contributions. PatriotMurica does not currently solicit or accept contributions to any candidate, party or political committee. No page on this site asks for one.

Why the separation matters

Legal Structure Comes First

Before any donation or political program opens, the organization’s structure has to be settled with qualified counsel. Each structure permits different activity.

501(c)(3) charitable organization
Cannot participate or intervene in any political campaign for or against a candidate for public office.
501(c)(4) social-welfare organization
May engage in some political activity, but political campaign activity cannot be its primary activity.
Nonconnected political committee (PAC)
Generally becomes a federal political committee, and must register with the FEC, once its contributions or expenditures exceed $1,000 in a calendar year. For the 2025–2026 federal cycle, an individual may give a candidate committee up to $3,500 per election.
Super PAC (independent-expenditure-only committee)
May accept unlimited contributions from permitted sources for independent expenditures. It may not contribute to federal candidates or coordinate its spending with them.
Foreign nationals. Federal law bars foreign nationals from making contributions, donations or expenditures in connection with U.S. federal, state or local elections. It also bars them from taking part in decisions about election-related spending. Lawful permanent residents are not foreign nationals for this purpose. Discussing ideas and non-election issue advocacy are not restricted.
Disclaimers. A registered political committee’s website must carry clear and conspicuous FEC disclaimers. If PatriotMurica ever forms one, it will be a separate committee with its own disclosures.
